Home Pastor Thompson
Pastor Elijah Thompson III is a native of Benton Harbor, Michigan. He is the youngest of his siblings born to the late Elder Elijah Thompson Jr. and Jeanette Thompson-McFall and a third generation of the Church of God in Christ. His grandmother was the late Prophetess Leola Franklin of Haiti, Missouri.
In February 1996, he married the love of his life Elect Lady Camile Thompson. Together, they share 3 children, and the proud grandparents of 6 grandchildren.
Pastor Thompson is described as a “Young Man” with an “Old Spirit” and known throughout the brotherhood as a “Preacher’s Preacher”. He was born under the Leadership of the late Bishop Nathaniel (Papa) Wells Sr.
Pastor Thompson accepted the call to preach the “Glorious Gospel” at the tender age of 25. In 2000, he took a “Leap of Faith” trusting God; he resigned from his secular job at a Ford Affiliate Production Assembly Plant and accepted the full-time position as the Church Organist for his home church Community Church of God in Christ, in Benton Harbor Michigan, where he served faithfully in this capacity for 2 years.
Simultaneously, while serving as church organist, (his Pastor), the Late Bishop Nathaniel Wyoming Wells Jr. (General Board Member of the Church of God in Christ) asked Pastor Thompson to relocate to the City of Niles Michigan, to help manage an Apartment Complex in which he co-owned. While serving the residents of Parkview Apartments he organized a successful Wednesday Night Bible Study Group. The Bible Study group proudly transformed into full ministry. In 2003, after the passing of a local Pastor, Pastor Elijah Thompson III accepted the appointment and was installed as Pastor of The Washington Temple Church of God in Christ, Niles, Michigan. Being led by the Holy Spirit the church was renamed Spiritual Vision Church.
Pastor Thompson was named the 2015 NAACP Service Award Recipient. In 2018 he was elevated to the office of Jurisdictional Auxiliaries in Ministry Chairman. In September 2020, he graduated from West Michigan College of Barbering and Beauty in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he is now a Licensed Barber Stylist in (2) two states.
While preaching a 3-day Revival in the city of Muskegon, Michigan, Mother MaryAnn Houston-Wells (widow of the Late Bishop Nathaniel Wyoming Wells Jr.) bestowed upon Pastor Elijah Thompson III Bishop N.W. Wells Jr. Jurisdictional Episcopal “Ring” (2022). She stated, “Bishop Wells would have wanted you to have it”. The authentic Ministry of Pastor Elijah Thompson III has taken him from the shores of Lake Michigan to the beautiful Islands of Hawaii, Bogota Columbia, and other parts of South America preaching Revival and Deliverance Crusades. Many have testified of the marvelous works of the Lord
